Dates and cohorts

Two cohorts. You take part in one of them.

One cohort meets in the afternoon and one in the morning, so that people in different time zones and with different working hours can take part. Each cohort meets on two dates and you need to attend both, because the second session builds on the first.

Morning cohort

Thursday 5 and Friday 6 November 2026

How to apply

One short form, open until Sunday 11 October.

1. Send it

About ten minutes. There is nothing to attach and no document to write.

2. We read it

Every application is read by a person. If something is unclear, we ask you before deciding. Places are confirmed in three rounds: two while the call is open, so that people confirmed early can block the dates, and a third after it closes, when the remaining places are allocated and both cohorts are balanced.

3. You take part

Everyone receives an answer by 14 October. Confirmed participants receive a short preparation pack on Monday 19 October, one week before the first session.

If you are not selected

A waiting list stays open until 22 October. Whenever a place frees up, we contact the next person on the list.

Who it is for

Open to organisations and individuals with an interest in the New European Bauhaus, whatever their experience of it.

The Assembly is open to organisations of many kinds across the New European Bauhaus Community, such as:

  • Public authorities, at local, regional and national level
  • Companies and businesses, in the built environment, construction and other sectors
  • Cultural and creative sectors, design and architecture
  • Nonprofit and nongovernmental organisations
  • Umbrella organisations and networks
  • Academic and research institutions

Organisations with no previous experience of the New European Bauhaus are just as encouraged to join as those who have worked with it for years.

Individuals are warmly welcome as well: residents and neighbourhood groups, cultural and creative practitioners, students, and people who have never worked on a project funded by the European Union. You apply as an individual, not as an organisation.

Your link with the New European Bauhaus

You may have been at the first Assembly or at the Festival, be a member of the New European Bauhaus Community, a Partner, part of a Lab or a Local Chapter, part of an EU funded project, part of a grassroots initiative that works in the same direction, or in first contact with all of it. The form asks which applies to you. None of them is a condition.

How places are allocated

The Assembly is balanced across three criteria. The form asks about each one, and places are allocated to keep that balance.

  • Location
  • Age
  • Gender

Why this Assembly

Not a general conversation about the New European Bauhaus. The sessions are built around what the project is working on now.

NEB Junction is in its second phase, and its strands of work are already under way. Each of them carries questions the project cannot answer from inside itself. The Assembly is where those questions are put to the people the work is meant to serve, so that what you say arrives somewhere specific instead of into a general record.

The tools being built

How the tools and services developed by NEB Junction respond to your needs, and how they could better support your work. This includes giving feedback on emerging solutions, such as the Monitoring System and the Dashboard, to help improve their usability, relevance and impact.

What gets in the way

The challenges, gaps and missing support that limit the implementation and scaling of New European Bauhaus initiatives. This includes reflecting on the current New European Bauhaus Facility, across both its research and innovation and its rollout components, to help shape the priorities and actions of the next long term budget of the European Union.

The direction of travel

How the project's vision and proposed future directions align with your experience and expectations. What is working well, what could be strengthened, and which priorities should shape the next phase of the New European Bauhaus.

What the Assembly does

Two sessions of three hours. What you say is reported at European level.

What comes out of the sessions feeds into what NEB Junction reports to the New European Bauhaus Facility and the European Commission.

What you receive afterwards

On Tuesday 17 November 2026 every participant receives a summary of what was said, where it was reported and what happens next. Session documentation does not name anyone who has not agreed to be named.

Questions

Before you apply.

Do I need experience of the New European Bauhaus?

No. We are looking for people who know a place, a practice or a community well. Knowing the initiative is welcome but is not a criterion, and the sessions are designed so that first-time participants can contribute from the start.

I took part in the first Assembly. Can I take part again?

Yes. Having been at the first Assembly is not a condition and it does not rule you out. It does not carry a place over either: places are allocated again from scratch for this one, so you need to send a new Expression of Interest. The form asks about your link with the New European Bauhaus, and having attended the previous Assembly is one of the answers.

Can I apply without an organisation behind me?

Yes. Membership of the New European Bauhaus Community is limited to registered organisations. This call is not. You can apply as an individual, and the organisation field in the form is optional.

Can I choose my cohort?

Yes. The form asks for your first choice and whether the other cohort would also work. Your preference comes first. If we need to move you to balance the cohorts, we ask you before doing so.

Do I have to attend both dates?

Yes. Each cohort meets on two dates and the second session builds on the first, so you need to attend both. The form asks you to confirm this.

What if I am not selected?

You receive an answer either way. A waiting list stays open until 22 October, and we contact the next person on it whenever a place frees up. NEB Junction also runs other sessions during the year, announced separately with open registration.
